Job Summary

At a crucial time for the region, the Governance and Peace Specialist will play a key role in delivering peace initiatives within the Sustaining Peace in Bougainville project. You will manage important partnerships, provide top-level advisory support, facilitate dialogues, and support activities centered on the post-referendum consultation process between the Government of Papua New Guinea and the Autonomous Bougainville Government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide top-level advisory support and technical guidance on peace and conflict resolution issues.
  • Guide and support the facilitation of dialogues and high-level meetings for the post-referendum consultation process.
  • Identify capacity-building needs of leaders and parliamentarians, especially women, and provide technical assistance.
  • Produce detailed reports following meetings and workshops related to the peace process.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with government bodies, UN agencies, and development partners.
  • Identify opportunities to support women’s meaningful participation in decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Peace & Conflict Resolutions, or a related field with 5+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in leading projects in peace and conflict resolutions, particularly in post-conflict or fragile settings.
  • Skills: Demonstrated experience in high-level planning, strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and delivering training to government representatives.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required.
